What is pcod and Pcos
Many of us tend to use PCOD and PCOS as a same term. Here we shall discuss the difference between these two terms. SYNDROME word stands for set of signs and symptoms and group of disease which are not related with each other and generally associated with particular disease. Whereas SYNDROME is not specific to a single disease.
PCOS is polycystic ovarian syndrome and PCOD stands for polycystic ovarian disease.
PCOS is more severe than PCOD and is a metabolic disorder. There is higher production of male hormone that leads to formation of multiple cysts every month. This results in anovulation with symptoms of infertility, obesity and hair fall. It is more severe condition compared to PCOD.
PCOD is a condition in which there are multiple immature or partially mature eggs. The symptoms include abdominal weight gain, irregular periods, male pattern hair loss and infertility.
