What is Panchakarma therapy?
Panchakarma, as the name suggests means ‘five actions’. The five actions are administered to remove the toxins from the body channels (sweat glands, lungs, urinary tract, intestine etc) thus improving the blood circulation, provide nourishment to the tissues and eliminating the disease.
The 5 actions are-
1)vamana (emesis)
2)virechana (purgation)
3)basti karma (medicated enema is the treatment of choice for treatment of blocked fallopian tubes)
4)nasya karma (nasal administration)
5)raktamokshan (blood letting) It is an important part of Ayurveda that is used as both the therapeutic and preventive measure. Panchakarma is one of the best healing therapy of the ancient medicine. The therapy is tailored according to the individual needs and so it varies from person to person.
