About Ayurveda
Ayurveda is one of the oldest medicinal systems that originated in India. The word ‘Ayurveda’ is a combination of two Sanskrit words—‘ayur’ and ‘veda’. ‘Ayur’ refers to longevity and ‘veda’ refers to science. So, Ayurveda refers to the science of longevity.
Ancient sages of India did a great deal of research not only for the healing of the body but also for the transcendence of the mind and soul. They came up with certain medicines, therapies, and yoga and meditation practices for the wellbeing of the body, mind and soul.
According to Ayurveda, the human body consists of five basic elements—fire, space, air, water and earth. These five elements when combined in the human bodies create five life energies or forces called doshas. These doshas make the body function in certain ways. These are kapha dosha (earth and water), vata dosha (space and air) and pitta dosha (water and fire).
Causes Of Infertility According To Ayurveda
According to Ayurveda, when doshas are not in balance, it creates illnesses in the body, including infertility.
1. Kapha dosha: This life force is known to control body strength, muscle growth, the immune system and weight.
Kapha dosha can get disturbed by consuming so much sugar, sleeping during the day, or by consuming too much water or salt.
If your body is kapha dominated, then misbalance in your body might develop breathing disorders, asthma, diabetes, cancer, nausea, obestity, etc.
2. Pitta dosha: This life force is known to control metabolism, digestion, and hormones related to your appetite.
Pitta dosha can be disturbed by spicy and sour foods, or staying long in the sun.
If your body is pitta dominated, then you are more likely to have conditions like heart disease, Crohn’s disease, infections, high blood pressure, etc.
3. Vata dosha: Ayurveda practitioners believe vata is the most powerful of all the doshas. It controls heart function, breathing, the mind, and the ability of eliminating the waste from the body.
Fear, sleep deprivation, frequent eating between short spans of time and grief contribute to disrupting vata.
If your body is vata dominated, misbalance in the body might cause heart disease, anxiety, rheumatoid arthritis, skin problems, etc.
